My lil guy is always on the look out for merienda (snack). Coming from school, he remembered seeing the Bread Bag in one of my magazines, so we decided to drop by at Ortigas Home Depot to check it out.

The Bread Bag Pan de Sal Bar is a small bread shop that serves sandwiches. What makes them stand out from the typical bread stores is that it serves the traditional pan de sal that every Filipino loves. Their menu also includes Pan de Plato which consists of the traditional Filipino viands served with pan de sal. These consists of Adobo, pan ala cubana, caldereta flakes, meatballs with queso de bola, chicken and mushroom and roast beef.
This bread bar started with “Casa Marcos Restaurant” and the freshly baked pandesal that was served with butter as an appetizer before each meal. They also serve brewed coffee and hot chocolate (a must try!) made with native tablea from Davao.
“Tradition matters – which is why we use the recipe and methods of the famous Casa Marcos restaurant when we bake our pan de sal. Using wood as fuel, we use a brick oven with layers of salt and clay, to guarantee that all pan de sal we offer taste like no other.“
