A month ago as I was passing along Kapitolyo when I chanced upon this new bakeshop along East Capitol Drive. I told myself I was going to visit that one of these days and today I did! I was craving for a cake, so I tagged along my son to check it out.
It is the newest branch of Lia’s Cake in Season. Lia’s is known for its Avocado cake (P670). The recipe has been the family’s secret which has been passed on for generations.
Now, they are known in the market as a bakeshop specializing in fruited cakes with remarkable homemade goodness. They carry other homegrown specialty cakes such as Avocado sansrival (P650), Chocolate avalanche (P580), Orange Taisan (P380), Red Velvet cake (P380), Chocobanana Indulgence (P620), Calamansi tea cake (P320), Mango walnut cake (P380) and many more.
They can also do made-to-order wedding cakes, characters cakes and custom specialty cakes. In the store, you can also enjoy other savory treats like Chicken Empanada (P65), Mushroom (P65), Homestyle Spaghetti (P160) and Aligue pasta (P125).
I let my son choose among the variety of cakes on display. His eyes were feasting as he carefully chose the cake to buy.

And finally his choice of cake was the Mango Walnut Cake. We bought a whole a cake and brought it home. The presentation is mouthwatering and its taste was really divine – not too sweet as it looks. It got a thumbs up from my kids too!

I also could not pass up the chance to try out their specialty — the Avocado Cake. So I got myself an Avocado Baby Cake (P65). This is best served at room temperature. Honestly, my motivation to buy this cake was the crunchy pistachio toppings.
